The Club
More than 50 years strong!
Mosman Harbourside, a member of the Northern Sydney & Beaches Hockey Association, had its genesis as North Sydney Women's Hockey Club at Primrose Park in the 1960's when it was a combined men's and women's club fielding strong teams throughout in competitions on the North Shore and then in Sydney wide competitions. The club has also been a long-term competitor and frequent finalist in the Ryde Eastwood Women’s Hockey Association grass competition.
The club plays this year in 4 Divisions in the Sydney Women's Hockey League: ML3,4,5 and 6. Mosman Harbourside have won Premierships in ML5 2011, 2014,16 & 17, and 2023 and ML6 in 2017.
Our turf players in 2015 changed to the name Mosman Harbourside in recognition of our merger with Mosman Hockey Club. That club was formed in 1992, fielding women’s teams in the Northern Suburbs Grass Competition. Since then the Seniors have moved to turf competitions on the North Shore, and over the years have won multiple premierships in various divisions as well as boasting representative players at Sydney, NSW and National level. In 2009 the club began a Mosman Junior program which has proved extremely popular fielding 17 teams in the Warringah Grass and North Area Turf Competitions.
Mosman Harbourside senior teams aim for the promotion and continuing development of junior hockey to senior ranks. We are excited at the prospect this brings the merged group with young players being mentored alongside seniors and adding new talent to our healthy, growing club. As well in 2014 we began our affiliation with Australian Catholic University as sponsor and coached the ACU team to finals in Uni Games.
In 2024 Mosman Harbourside will continue to have a diverse playing group which will include NSW junior representative players to mix with NSW and Australian Masters representatives. This gives great depth for mentoring and development.
